Trees for Troops is a nationwide campaign to distribute REAL Christmas Trees to military families around the world. Started through the efforts of the National Christmas Tree Association, it is coordinated through their charitable branch, The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation. Since 2005, Trees for Troops has grown from 4300 trees donated by various tree farms to an estimated 17,000 trees this year donated by various tree farms and their customers. Federal Express ships all the trees free of charge, which includes those shipped air freight to bases overseas!

Chub Lake Tree Farm has participated in previous years and has again this year agreed to be a collection site for donated trees. We have committed to load 100+ trees on the FedEx trailer the weekend of December 5th & 6th. For each tree purchased for this purpose, we will donate $5.00 to The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation.

You can help us say “Thank You” and “Merry Christmas” to our soldiers and their families by choosing one of the following options:

1. $25 will buy (1) 6’ tree w/card bearing your name and loaded on the trailer. If you choose this option, send check to: Chub Lake Tree Farm, 1867 East Chub Lake Road, Carlton, MN 55718. You may also call our farm, at anytime, to make donation with payment to be made by credit card. Either way, we will cut the tree, place your name on a card, attach to a tree, and load on the trailer.
2. You may donate any amount while you are getting your tree at Chub Lake Tree Farm. Look for the Trees for Troops jar by the cash register. Your collective donation will send extra trees.
3. For a special time, visit us on Trees for Troops Weekend, December 5th & 6th. Choose a tree for your family & purchase another tree for a military family.

We have enlisted the help of our local National Guard Unit, CQ194 CAV, who plan to give their time, helping with tree loading and being available to share with each of you information about their own military experiences.
