About Whorton's Chub Lake Tree Farm
Owned and operated by Jim & Bev Whorton since 1985, the Chub Lake Tree Farm is located in Northeast Minnesota just outside Carlton, about 15 miles west of Duluth. This location assures the trees are exposed to many nights of freezing temperatures prior to harvest. That is how Mother Nature "hardens off" trees, preparing for better color and needle retention after harvest.

We are small enough in size to give careful attention to each tree, but large enough to have plenty of choice trees available for customers.

We operate a Choose & Cut business at the farm and offer fresh precut trees as well for your selection. We also offer baling services for trees and assistance with loading, if required. After finding your special tree, enjoy a free cup of hot cider and cookies. We sell hot dogs and "brats" cooked on an open fire for those who come with a real appetite!

Bring your camera, as there are plenty of photo opportunities available.
